The Process​

​

The collage work you see here begins with a memory, an experience or just an intention.  My process soon unfolds into the integration of geometric and organic forms using the elements of texture and color.  Each piece begins with layers of bold pastels that create the foundation of the work.  I then cut and play (as with a puzzle) with handmade papers, found objects, acrylic panels and use collage techniques to add to and build up the surface of the piece.  All of these elements give the work a unique dimensional quality.

 

For me, the combination of the rich texture of handmade paper with the purity of color inherent in pastels gives my work purpose and reveals my soulful spirit.

 

Upon completion, the work is uniquely matted and framed. Each piece is original and done by my own hand.
